About Imposter

Imposter is a free party word game for 3 to 12 players. Everyone secretly gets the same word, like Samosa or Railway Station, except one player, the imposter, who only sees IMPOSTER. Take turns giving one-word clues, discuss, and vote for who you think is faking it. If you catch the imposter, they get one last chance to guess the secret word. Play on one phone by passing it around, or let everyone use their own phone with a room code. It works without any sign-up, and once the page has loaded it even works offline. Word packs include food, places, sports, animals, things at home, jobs and school.

Tips

Give clues that are clear to your friends but vague enough to keep the imposter guessing.
As the imposter, wait for a few clues before you speak, and copy their style.
Watch for players who give very general clues: they may not know the word.
With 6 or more players, try 2 imposters for more chaos.
